September Challenge!




The Quidditch Pitch and Fiction Alley are teaming up to bring you a Back to School Challenge!

Eligibility

Staff of Fiction Alley and The Quidditch Pitch are disqualified from entering the competition. Competitors do not have to be TQP members or Fiction Alley members, but as membership is open and easy to attain, it is encouraged. Both TQP & Fictionalley must approve of any given entry for it to be qualified for the competition.

Entries for the Challenge

  1. This is a fanfiction and fanart contest
  2. NC-17 material is not allowed. The rating guidelines for this challenge mirror Fiction Alley's rating system. Please review the ratings before submitting your story
  3. Your entry must be original to you or a derivative work based on JK Rowling's Harry Potter series of books. By submitting your entry, you represent and warrant that you are the author/artist of all elements of your entry or, if you are not the author/artist of one or more elements, that you have the right to use all elements of your entry.
  4. Minerva McGonagall must be the central character to the story or piece of art
  5. Stories/Art must be submitted with the following format:
    • Title:
    • Author/Artist:
    • Rating:
    • Warnings
    • Disclaimer: This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoast Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. No money is being made and no copyright or trademark infringement is intended.
    • Summary:

  1. Stories and art may be entered via challenge@thequidditchpitch.org email address. All entries will be forwarded to both sites for approval/verification.
  2. All stories/artwork must be submitted by October 10th 2007. Voting will commence on the chosen stories on October 15th 2007. Voting will close on October 18th, 2007 at 23:59:59 USA EDT. Winners to be declared on October 19th 2007.

Judging

Staff of Fictionalley and The Quidditch Pitch will choose 10 fics/pieces of art to be voted on. The vote is open to everyone, but it will be a "blind vote," Once the winner is announced, the entries will be revealed.

Prizes:

A signed copy of a Meg Cabot novel.

A copy of Order of the Phoenix signed by Mary GrandPré.

A 2008 FictionAlley calendar.

A "7 books, 1 fandom" t-shirt.
